Connecting biodiversity knowledge and decision-making

16 Dec 2024 / General News

BioAgora is a five-year EU project aiming to support sustainable transformation for biodiversity in Europe. It is a collaborative project funded by the Horizon Europe programme and gathers a Consortium of 22 partners, from 13 European countries, led by SYKE, the Finnish Environment Institute. Its partners represent a diversity of actors coming from academia, public authorities, SMEs, and associations.

The BioAgora project will strive to connect research results on biodiversity to the needs of policy making in a targeted dialogue between scientists, other knowledge holders and policy actors.

Its main outcome will be the development of a fair and functional Science Service for Biodiversity, that will orchestrate processes and initiatives at the Science-Policy Interface at the European level. It will fully support the ecological transition required by the European Green Deal and the European Union’s Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

All interested stakeholders will be invited to actively contribute to biodiversity decision-making and research and engage in the Science Service for Biodiversity. For instance, open calls for financial funding to third parties will be published on this website.
