Interactive Role Play Workshop at ESEE-Degrowth 2024 Promotes an Inclusive Science Service for Biodiversity

At the 10th International Degrowth Conference and the 15th Conference of the European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE) 2024 which took place between 18-21 June in Pontevedra, Spain, BioAgora Project researchers Kata Fodor (ESSRG), Karmen Czett (ESSRG) and M. Susana Orta-Ortiz (University of Trento) led an engaging interactive role play workshop. The session was designed to help develop an inclusive and transformative Science Service for Biodiversity in Europe

The interactive workshop provided a platform for participants to collaboratively explore and evaluate various participatory processes aimed at enhancing inclusivity and co-producing knowledge within the future Science Service.

The discussions focused on the role of conflict in productive decision-making, the innovative potential of scientists in devising solutions, and the tools available for critical reflection in decision-making processes. This workshop underscored the importance of inclusive dialogue and creative thinking in advancing biodiversity research and policy.
