The Marine Knowledge Exchange Network focuses on policy commitments of the EU's Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 and the Marine Action Plan, for example to: 1) legally protect at least 30% of the bloc's seas and strictly protect at least a third of its protected areas; 2) substantially reduce the negative impacts of fisheries on sensitive marine habitats and species. In this context, the Marine Knowledge Exchange Network is building a topical network and is now focused on three main functions, namely capacity-building, answering requests and feedback into policy frameworks.
